Why Do We Need Initiation?

Standing on the Shoulders of Our Ancestors

We have been blessed with a long line of ancestors. They came before us and prepared much of what we enjoy today. We use the blessings others have given us every day, and it's good to remember them and give thanks.

One of the best ways to honor our ancestors is the rite of initiation. This shows commitment and dedication to carry their traditions forward. It shows that we understand their values and we still keep them sacred.

Our First Yes to God

There is no greater honor you can give someone than saying, "I want to be like you and continue your work." Many eons ago, we did this when we first met God. We said, "We want to be like you!" "We want to create the universe!" This is where this tradition started and we carry it to this day.

The Mystery School teaches us that in that moment God said yes, and we embarked together on a journey of transformation. We humans have been granted the power and authority to do the work of God. Now it is up to us to claim that power and use it to create good on the planet. The rite of initiation starts this process. It purifies our soul and realigns our aura to allow the power of God, the wisdom of God and all the other qualities to flow through us uninterrupted.

A Plan Made Together with God

Before we started the transformation, we created a plan together with God. By following it, we, as a collective, will become Creator Gods, fully trained to do the work that God has already been doing for eternity. Each individual has a unique role within this plan, a piece of the puzzle. When we put them all together, we create the masterpiece worthy of God!

Living a Life of Magick

A key part of that work is living a life of magick, not of logic. That is exactly what initiation does: it is the spark that brings the new into the world. It creates something out of nothing, and it transforms what is into something better.

Opening the Gates of the Soul

As in the ancient mystery school traditions, the rite of initiation opens the gates in a person's soul through which God comes down into the physical. Through this rite the person gains access to ten times more Light, more guidance and direct access to the Hierarchy of Light. They are therefore protected and held in the Light by the angelic forces, empowered to do their work on the planet, creating harmony, prosperity, good and beauty wherever they go.

A Rite Kept Sacred

This rite has been handed down for generations, according to tradition. Like many other rituals, it has been kept sacred and pure, hidden away from those who sought to destroy it. But luckily, our ancestors, men and women of this earth, dedicated their lives to tirelessly keeping watch over this lineage. Through their wisdom, their strength and divine guidance, they succeeded.

The Doors Open Again

Now that the times have changed, the ancient rite of initiation can be performed openly once more. No longer hidden behind closed doors. One courageous initiate from the old order opened the doors to the public to partake of this rite. His name is Gudni Gudnason and he is today recognized as the Founder of the Modern Mystery School.

Over the last 30 years he has trained a new generation of guides who are carrying his work forward. I am honored and humbled to be one of them. It is not glamorous and definitely not easy, but it is the most fulfilling work that I have ever done in my life.

Creating Heaven on Earth

Do you remember the plan I was telling you about in the beginning? This is how we fulfil it. The rite of Initiation helps us remember and readjust. Initiates are creating heaven on earth through their thoughts, words and actions. They are working magick, creating things that ordinary people think impossible. They grow, progress and expand ten times faster than a normal human being. And their work is ultimately good. On the other side of the struggles, the unknown or the occasional suffering, there is joy and fulfilment.

This is how initiates from the great lineages have been doing their work for thousands of years. And they left a path for us to follow as well.

Honor Them, Then Follow the Call

If you haven't stopped yet to say thank you to your ancestors, now is the time. Light a candle for them and say a prayer for them. Also, if you hear the call of your soul to follow in their footsteps and continue the great work to Know Thyself, seek to know more, to understand the deeper meaning of the experience we are living.
